Black-footed Ferret Pin
The black-footed ferret is one of North America’s most endangered mammals. Endemic to North America, the earliest fossil record tracks back to approximately 100,000 years ago. Once believed to be extinct, they were rediscovered in Wyoming in 1981; efforts have helped restore their population to about 300 ferrets in the wild today. Black-footed ferret habitats range across the Great Plains and intermountain west, relying heavily upon the presence of prairie dogs as both their primary food source as well as the architects of extensive burrowing systems, which ferrets modify to suit their needs. 1.25" Hard enamel pin; black metal. 10% of your purchase of our Wildlife Series is donated to wildlife conservation/rehabilitation!
