Scale: 1:76 (OO) Length: 170mm Width: 33mm Weight: 43g Minimum Curve Radius: Radius 2 (438mm) ERA: BR Early Crest 1948-1957 The smallest of the three LNER bogie drop-side ballast wagon designs but the only one not built before nationalisation. BR diagram 1/571 was built from May 1950 to May 1951 by Butterly Engineering under lot 2121. Only 50 were ever built with numbers ranging from DB990050 to DB990099. Allocated to the Eastern region these wagons remained in the region and rarely strayed far, serving in permanent way trains and stone workings. They were later given the TOPS code YCO and continued to be used up until the 1980s as unfitted stock fell out of use.
