When I first saw Holy Wood by Hanson Chien I was blown away by how good the gimmick and routine were and I didn’t think it was possible to do better. Well maybe I was wrong, because the Pocket version is slightly better if that is possible. I still think there is nothing stronger than switching in the standard sized Holy Wood after a card trick to blow them the way. But if you wanted a single version for walk around and general use the Pocket Holy Wood is everything you require in a smaller more convenient package. I prefer the matchbox to the card box (it does come with a mini card box too of course), but the matchbox feels more real for some reason. Not only is the gimmick perfect but Hanson has created the perfect routine for this miracle. No longer is the Matchbox Penetration just a puzzle, now there is a beginning, a middle, and a mind blowing end to the routine.
