Basic Sketching

SUMMER 2026 Instructor: Kimberly Swait Dates Offered: July 6 - July 29 (4 wks) Mtg. Days: Mon. & Wed (2 days/week) Mtg. Time: 8:00 - 8:50 AM Credits: None Class Description: This basic drawing class gives students the chance to try drawing various subjects. Students will draw a still life, landscapes, urban landscapes, people, and various animals. Students will complete their work in a sketchbook and use various media as well as mix mediums. Concepts covered in the class will be accuracy of shape, quick sketching, and color mixing. Required Materials: Sketchbook 8 x 10” Graphite drawing pencil Black pen (preferably waterproof) can be a ballpoint pen, felt tip, brush pen, etc. Eraser Sharpener Small watercolor set Colored pencil set (at least 12) Water Pen/brush or watercolor paint brushes (one small detail one and one larger one) If you are already enrolled in LOS, simply log in to your ClassReach account--you'll see a summer registration notification on your homepage beginning March 2.
