Antique real human medical half skeleton without skull.
This is a nice, old example of a medically prepared real human half skeleton of the kind that have been used by medical students for over one hundred years. This one would originally have had a skull with it, but over the years, the skull has been separated and lost. The skeleton itself is in good condition. The skeleton has complete hand and foot with all the bones strung together to show articulation. The vertebrae are also all present and strung together and the ribs are all present and intact, There is a hole in the scapula and also the head of the fibula has crumbled a little as it has become friable over the years. The pelvis has also been coloured in places to show muscle attachments. The bones have a lovely deep colour and patina that has been gained over the best part of a hundred years of use and handling. Interestingly, the ends of the longbones of the leg are discoloured at the joints. There are a few possible causes for this including possible scurvy.
