PEEK Electrochemical Cell Screw Set
PEEK Electrochemical Cell Screws for More Demanding Applications Enables electrochemical cells to be used under high temperature and in chemically aggressive conditions Standard electrode securing and gas inlet/outlet securing screws in electrochemical cells are made out of POM (Polyoxymethylene). POM has many benefits, including high engineerability and wear resistance which allows the screws to fit well into the cells with long durability. However, the stability of POM is generally limited to moderate conditions, and it can start to melt or degrade when exposed to more demanding conditions. With better temperature and chemical resistivity, PEEK screws offer an excellent alternative. Compared to POM, PEEK (polyether ether ketone) electrochemical cell screws provide you with more flexibility in setting up experiment conditions. PEEK is known for survivability under the following conditions: High-Temperature Environments: PEEK provides high thermal stability supporting high-temperature electrochemical processes Corrosive Chemical Environments: PEEK is resistant to a wide range of inorganic and organic chemicals, including concentrated acids (e.g., sulfuric or nitric acid), bases (NaOH, KOH), and harsh organic solvents. Hydrolysis/Steam Environments: PEEK performs well in pressurized hot water and steam Though PEEK is generally compatible with most of the commonly using electrolytes, specific conditions may cause degradation.
