THE “STAY STURDY” HAT Inspired by the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run, the nation’s oldest, most prestigious 100 mile race. The elevation profile is on the patch along with the highest point on the race (8750ft, just a few miles into the Start and 1227ft at the Finish line). The sun, representing the historically hot temperatures in the canyons and then the patch of the bear on the side of the hat- a commonly seen animal on the Western States trails. Sally is a 2x Top Ten Finisher of WS100 and earned her 4th belt buckle after crossing the finish line this past June 2024. The phrase STAY STURDY came to her while she questioned her training and the quick turnaround from completing the Grand Slam of 200s. Curious how her body would endure the rigorous training, Sally reminded herself to lean into the strength she’s built during her career and to remain determined for the Finish line no matter the circumstance.
