This set does include matte paint with is easy to clean up. I would suggest laying out paper just to make clean up a breeze. Please supervise all children while doing this craft kit. Let adults do the set up, including opening the paint containers to minimize spills. The wood is made from 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch baltic birch.
