Hoya 'Purpureo-fusca'
The Hoya 'Purpureo-fusca' is a vining plant which produces spectacular clusters of dark mauve, starshaped flowers with red corona. Another eye-catching feature of this Hoya species is its tri-nerved leaves, which can grow up to an impressive size of 15cm x 6cm. The combination of this plants unique foliage and stunning flower displays certainly makes for a showstopper amongst your plant collection! Like all members of the Hoya family, they are easy to care for, requiring less frequent watering/attention than a lot of other tropical indoor plants. NOTE: Hoya will often produce long tendrils that initially remain bare, without foliage. These tendrils will eventually develop leaves, so refrain from cutting these long vines unless you wish to propagate or are purposefully pruning for aesthetic purposes. CARE: Prefers a warm spot with bright light indoors, or outdoors in a sheltered position. Use a well-draining potting mix and allow soil to dry between watering. Prefers to remain snug in its pot, so refrain from repotting too frequently. Fertilise throughout spring and summer to promote flowering. PLEASE NOTE: All pictures are of plants currently for sale or previously sold at The Tropic Gardener. The plant photographed should be used as an indication of size and quality only and may not be the exact plant you receive. Form and colour will vary slightly.
