A reverse osmosis membrane is also used for processing desalted and/or Ultra Pure Water (UPW) for various industrial and other uses, such as making up water from power plants, manufacturing of electronic chips, food industry, pharmaceutical, medical, and others. An Vi Group is a proud supplier of high quality membranes from top-rated reverse osmosis membrane manufacturing brands such as Dupont/Dow Filmtec, Nitto Denko Hydranautics, Toray, Veolia (Suez), LG Chem H2O, Aquaporin, Vontron… These membranes come in sizes ranging from 4″, and 8″ for brackish water and seawater applications. They offer important features necessary for efficient performance, including low pressure and high rejection. An Vi Group introduces to customers Low Pressure LP22-8040PRO designed and manufactured by Vontron. This type of Reverse osmosis plant managers and operators dealing with controlled-pre-treatment waters and seeking advanced membrane treatment with good water purity and low energy consumption. 1. Key Features RO Vontron LP22-8040PRO: The RO Vontron LP22-8040PRO, Low Pressure Series is primarily used in desalination of brackish water. This series features low operating pressure, high permeate flow and rejection. It has high performance in rejecting soluble salt, TOC and SiO2 , and can be widely applied in pure water production in electricity and electronic industries. 2. Key Applications RO membrane elements Vontron: Industrial pure water production, for example: electric power, steel, chemical industry, etc. Desalination of drinking water, for example: pure water, packaged water Municipal water purification Applications requiring stringent permeate quality 3. Typical Properties RO Vontron LP22-8040PRO: Model: : LP22-8040PRO Active Area ft2 (m2) : 400 (37.2) Feed Spacer Thickness (mil) : 28 Permeate Flow Rate gpd (m3/d) :11,000 (41.6) Stabilized Salt Rejection (%) : 99.7 Minimum Salt Rejection (%) : 99 Conditions test Vontron: 1. Permeate flow and salt (NaCl) rejection based on the following standard test conditions: 2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psi (1.55 MPa), 77°F (25°C), pH 7 ± 0.5, 15% recovery. 2. Flowrates for individual elements may vary but will be no more than 15% below the value shown. 3. Stabilized salt rejection is generally achieved within 24-48 hours of continuous use; depending upon feedwater characteristics and operating conditions. Sales specifications may vary as design revisions take place. 4. Suggested Operating Conditions Vontron LP22-8040PRO: Membrane Type : Polyamide Thin-Film Composite Maximum Operating Temperature : 113°F (45°C) Maximum Operating Pressure : 600 psig (41 bar) Maximum Pressure Drop Per Element Per Pressure Vessel (Minimum 4 Elements) : 15 psig (1.0 bar) : 50 psig (3.5 bar) pH Range Continuous Operation Short-Term Cleaning (30 min.) : 2- 11 : 1-13 MaximumFeed Flow : 75 gpm(17 m3/hr) MaximumFeed Silt Density Index : SDI 5 Free Chlorine Tolerance : < 0.1 ppm 5. The information and recommendations RO membrane elements Vontron LP22-8040PRO: Before shipping the membrane element from the factory, technicians ensure that the dry membrane element contains no preservation solution. They treat the wet membrane element with a 1.0% sodium bisulfite solution (and, in winter, add 10% propylene glycol antifreeze) for storage and vacuum-pack it. After soaking, users must always keep dry membrane elements wet. When users do not use wet membrane elements for an extended period, they must soak them in a preservation solution. Before using the membrane element for the first time, operators should flush it at low pressure for 15–25 minutes (without soaking or overnight soaking), followed by a 60–90 minute flush at high pressure, ensuring that the water flow reaches at least 50% of the system’s designed water flow. Operators must discharge both permeate water and concentrated water generated within the first hour of the membrane element’s initial operation. The operating limits and guidelines outlined in this technical information form part of the three-year warranty restrictions on the membrane element. Users must not add any chemicals that could affect the membrane element during storage and operation. Vontron Technology disclaims liability for any consequences resulting from such chemical use. For detailed information on installation, commissioning, storage, and transportation of membrane elements, please consult the Product Manual.
