Players begin as citizens of Mundania, a dull world of toil and paperwork, before being chosen by the Gods of Metal to fight in the realm of Ragnarock. Characters form a Band, pledge themselves to a patron Metal God, and quest for glory against monsters, foes, and cosmic threats. The system uses pools of D4s, with Tributes powering bold actions and Feedback creating danger that enemies can turn against the heroes. Six Tones and six Positions unlock Power Moves and help players create Anthems from the stories they tell.
