July 2026 Youth Art Classes

Let's get >>arsty<< this summer at GRA! Pre-registration is required Welcoming ages 6 & up. Classes will include one NEW project, a break for snacks and some sort of movement activity starting at 10am and ending at 12pm Wednesday, July 15th - Blot Art Blot drawing is a technique in the visual arts of using accidental blots or other marks on paper as the basis for an imaginative drawing. Part two will be creating interpretive dances or stories from the artwork created. Any additional time will be spent making skrinky dinks and perly beads. Thursday, July 16th - Watercolor With a bit of paint and a LOT of water we will explore variety of subject matter to depict - landscapes, flowers, and animals. Part two will be playing two water themed games - Underwater Statue Garden & Ocean Animal Freeze. Wednesday, July 22nd - Tie Dye Getting colorful - we will provide white bandanas and socks (you're welcome to bring a white t-shirt as well) and tie die away!! Part two we will be busting out some moves with Wii Dance. Any additional time will be spent making skrinky dinks and perly beads. Thursday, July 23rd - Pastels Bringing to the table pastels - we will learn about blending colors to make our very own Northern Lights Sky and Monster Creation. Part two we will get our bodies moving with two different games - Pastel Pass and Color Mixing Corner. Any extra time will be spent making sidewalk art along 1st Ave.
