12-14th Century Bronze Prick Spurs
A pair of Medieval Bronze Prick Spurs with red leather straps. Features riveted leather strapping, and a period appropriate bronze buckle. Prick spurs were an early form of equestrian spur, featuring a single pointed spike or goad. These were the main type of spurs used in medieval Europe, until they were replaced by the rowel or wheel spur from around the mid-14th century. This is a historical replica piece, and is intended for use as part of a reenactment, rather than for active equestrian use. Please use responsibly and with appropriate respect for local horse welfare laws. Spare strapping and rivets included. In stock and available to ship immediately.
