Weaving Workshop Saturday, June 13th 11am - 2pm

Learn the basics of hand-painting and weaving a warp-facing design on a small frame loom, while incorporating seasonal plant materials and natural fibers into an experimental composition. Family-friendly and beginner-friendly. Level This is an introductory class for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome. Bios Natalie Eva Clark is a Chicago-based fiber and installation artist, building imagined landscapes through hand-dyed color, layers of texture, and a legacy of handworked detail. Her work explores the discordance and duality of inherited belief systems in relationship to the natural world, myth and labor valuation between existences in rural self-sufficiency and contemporary urbanism. These ideas inspire her choices of hand-dyed fibers, invented and traditional craft techniques, scavenged and sustainable materials, and the abstracted imagery with which she explores the blurred boundaries between reality, fantasy and the self-materialization of certainty. Natalie has undergraduate degrees in Painting and Art History, and a Masters degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has created immersive environments and site-specific installations in public and private spaces throughout Chicago including the Garfield Park Conservatory and the Chicago Cultural Center. Her large scale fiber installation ‘In the Tall Grass’ is currently on view at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum through late June 2026. Location Event will be held in the Third Season Design Studio at 1516 W Carroll Ave. Entrance is on the Justine side of the building under our three greenhouses.
