Varigola table lamp by Lino Tagliapietra for La Murrina, 1970
Varigola table lamp, designed and made by Italian glass artist Lino Tagliapietra in 1970. Made together with glass factory La Murrina in Murano, Venice. This very special and elegant table lamp is reminiscent of the work of Lino. Long, elongated pieces of glass, often with bold colors and exuberant patterning. The Varigola features a spiral-like shape and is made from one single piece of white glass. In the spiral, there is a transparent crystal band that allows the light to beam out. Our lamp is in mint condition and originates from the leftover stock, directly from the old warehouse of La Murrina. Tagliapietra’s work is represented in more than fifty international museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Musée des Arts Decoratifs in Paris.
