How to Use Use one of the pre-cut sheets or trim the stabilizer to fit your hoop size. Place the backing underneath the garment, hoop the fabric and backing together, and embroider the design. After stitching, remove the garment from the hoop and trim away the excess backing with sharp scissors or shears, leaving approximately 1/4" around the outside of the design. Rounding the corners instead of leaving them square can help prevent curling later. Helpful Hint To avoid nicking the fabric when trimming, hold the backing while letting the garment drape. Position it so you can clearly see both the edge of the design and the fabric for a cleaner, safer trim.
