The cup has an attractive frilled and gently ruffled edge, adding texture to the otherwise classic daffodil shape. 'Carlton' belongs to the Large-Cupped group of daffodils. In this group, the corona or cup measures more than one-third of the length of the surrounding perianth segments, but is not as long as the petals themselves.
