Pesola Multifunctional Cap For M5 Pressure Rod
Pesola Multifunctional Cap For M5 Pressure Rod The Pesola Multi-Functional Cap for Pressure Rod M5 is a versatile pressure-measuring accessory designed for use with the PESOLA Pressure Set 8.004. Its reversible design provides two different contact configurations, allowing accurate pressure-force measurements on round, flat, recessed and projecting surfaces. Simply select the appropriate side of the cap for the measuring application and screw it onto the pressure rod. The cap can also be easily customised to suit specific requirements, such as grinding down one tip or applying a self-adhesive protector to protect a measuring surface. Two Contact Configurations Option 1: Concave rounding with two canted sides pointing at the measuring object. This configuration is particularly suitable for measuring pressure forces on round objects without slipping off. The two edges form a 90° angle and can also be used to measure pressure forces in re-entrant or recessed edges. Typical Applications Include: Measuring pressure on panic and fire-door bars Measuring door-handle opening forces Measuring closing forces on fire doors Measuring forces on windows and handle frames Option 2: Round, flat side with two v-shaped recesses pointing at the measuring object This configuration is suitable for measuring pressure forces on flat surfaces. The V-shaped recesses provide contact points for measuring pressure forces on projecting edges. Tips for Accurate Pressure Measurements Pesola scales are designed to provide highly precise measurements. However, the technique used when measuring maximum pressure forces can have a significant effect on the result. For the most accurate and repeatable measurements, follow these guidelines: Set up the scale for pressure measurement. Attach the Pesola Multi-Functional Cap for Pressure Rod M5 (8.032) to the pressure rod, selecting the appropriate contact surface for the object being measured. Do not fully tighten the cap. Leaving it slightly loose allows you to rotate and align it correctly with round or square objects. Set the zero position. Hold the scale in the intended measuring position without applying any force. Adjust the zero position using the tare screw, then move the drag pointer back towards zero. Hold the scale correctly. Grip the scale by the radial handle and use your other hand to stabilise the opposite end of the tube. Take care not to touch or obstruct the drag pointer during measurement. Maintain the correct measuring position. Keep the axis of the scale perpendicular to the measuring object. This helps minimise the influence of internal friction and improves measurement accuracy. Apply pressure at a consistent speed. Increase the pressure slowly and continuously while maintaining a steady axial feed rate. The speed of application can affect the measured result: Record the maximum force. Gradually reduce the applied force back to zero without touching the drag pointer. Read the maximum measured force from the upper edge of the drag pointer. Repeat the measurement. For reliable results, repeat the measurement three times using the same technique and parameters. Record each value and calculate the arithmetic average of the three measurements. This average provides a representative and reliable result.
