Heralding spring, each year at Easton Walled Gardens a blanket of snowdrops and aconites replace the mud of winter. Heavy on the greens, with the white of quality watercolour paper to provide the rest, we think that this set is perfect for capturing those frosty days where the sun stays out just a little longer. These colours speak for themselves on paper but on the internet you’ll have to trust us. Handmade watercolour set of 6 individually wrapped half pans in a metal tin with two mixing surfaces, a colour chart printed on Arches watercolour paper, and a size 8 Tintoretto Feltracco retractable synthetic brush. The Easton Snowdrop set is packaged with original marbled paper by a Florentine artisan workshop and comes inside a handmade linen bag. Made by hand in Assisi, A. Gallo’s watercolours are crafted according to a traditional recipe of raw pigments, gum arabic, local honey, rosemary essential oil and a wetting agent. This artisanal process creates a very pigmented and luminous paint that activates beautifully when wet. Includes 6 exquisite earth, mineral and plant based pigments: Sap green – (PY83, PG36, PV19, PR101) – Excellent lightfastness, semi-opaque, a classic. this green sits in the middle between cool and warm, with strong chroma, and is at home in any palette. Lemon Yellow Permanent – (PY184) – Excellent lightfastness, semi-opaque, a punchy bright yellow to add pops of aconites, also fantastic for mixing with green to expand the range of hues. Fig Green – (PY151, PG17)- Excellent lightfastness, semi-opaque, bright yellow green for young stems. Malachite hue – Amazonite – (PG18, PW4, PY3) – Excellent lightfastness, semi-opaque, the base in Amazonite mineral pigment, and offers a ready copper blue-green, with some gorgeous nuanced granulation. Tourmaline (genuine mineral pigment) – Excellent lightfastness, semi-transparent, a gorgeous granulating blue-grey that provides cool shadows on white petals as the winter sun dips low, with very little effort. Slate gray (PBk19) – Excellent lightfastness, a warm grey fantastic for the shadows cast by cool winter light. A. Gallo Colours are 100% handmade. Pans may contain small imperfections like tiny bubbles and minor blemishes.
