HOUJICHA ORGANIC

This wonderful and unique Japanese tea is made by pan-roasting Sencha leaves over high heat, creating Houjicha's characteristically smooth and toasted flavor profile. Naturally low in caffeine due to the roasting process, this tea is wonderful any time of day and in large amounts, aka by the pitcher, if that's what you need (: The natural sweetness and depth of this tea translates to iced tea extremely well and even though this tea is roasted, the iced version is wonderfully refreshing on a hot summer day. Just make the tea a little stronger than normal using more tea leaf material if you'll be pouring this over ice. Or allow the brewed tea to cool a bit before introducing ice to maintain the strength of flavor. Tasting Notes: toasted nuts, earthy, sweet caramel Origin: Uji, Japan Preparation: Use 1 full Tb per 16 oz of purified 195º water. Steep for 30 seconds - 1 minute. Resteep several times.
