Coming Home to Yourself: An Introduction to Mindfulness Meditation with Cynthia Flagg Sundays, August 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th 4:30 - 5:30pm Limited to 8 persons $60 for all 4 sessions * Note: Since this is designed as a 4-week program, we are unable to prorate for missed sessions Sessions are held in a safe and confidential space, and include a brief talk, a guided meditation and time for Q+A and sharing. Together, explore simple, accessible mindfulness practices grounded in awareness of the body, breath, emotions, and thoughts, with an emphasis on practical tools for daily life. Week 1 It Begins with the Body: An Introduction to Mindfulness Week 2 What Moves through US: Mindful of Emotions Week 3 Cultivating a Wise Heart: Compassion and Loving Kindness Week 4 How Do We Live: Practices for Daily Life This series is not about fixing yourself or becoming someone new. It’s about slowing down, quieting the mind, opening the heart, and learning to meet your life with greater awareness, clarity and kindness. We will be sitting on chairs, so bring along a towel, or small blanket, a journal, wear comfy clothes, and please aim to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to start time to get settled. Note from Cynthia: This series is being offered as part of my final practicum for certification through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. I’m deeply grateful for your participation. As part of the practicum process, one session will be recorded for the purpose of receiving feedback from my teachers and mentors. The audio recording will be used solely for training and evaluation purposes. MEET CYNTHIA My lived experience as a woman (mother, daughter, grandmother, married & divorced) and then retirement brought me to the Southwest, where I discovered the beautiful practice of Mindfulness Meditation. I have been practicing now for 10 years and I look forward to sharing this introduction course with you, in community. Credentials: MSW graduate of Columbia University School of Social Work, and practitioner in the field of mental health for 20 years as a LCSW, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, providing Individual, Group and Family Therapy in various settings.
