Romeldales were developed in California in 1915 as a cross between Romney and Rambouillet. In the 1960s, California Varigated Mutant (CVM) developed from the breeding of Romeldales for both fleece color and quality. They are unique to the United States and are endangered. CVM have never been numerous and today are considered rare. Of all the breeds Sam has raised at Cunnington Farms, CVM’s have the sweetest temperaments and are a true delight in all their characteristics. CVM yarns are great for next-to-skin clothing, blankets and other like items. It is suitable for felting as well. 4oz
