Dancing Between Worlds

Paula Borsetti employs an intuitive process of layering and excavation, building an abstract terrain from deep teals, vivid magentas, and soft sea greens. Vertical drips of fluid pigment cut through dense, opaque blocks of color, revealing the history of the canvas as it is continuously built up and scraped back. Gestural loops and fragmented organic shapes emerge from these washes, reading less as literal geography and more as accumulated traces of memory. Grounded in her experiences between the Massachusetts coast and Maine forests, the active surface maps how inhabited places leave a lasting visual memory.
