The 2014 iteration, drawn from estate vines and fermented with a commitment to purity, is a seamless expression of the house’s philosophy. Composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, the grapes thrive among mineral-dense clay-limestone soils on vines an average age of 50 years old. The dazzling rose-gold wine opens with a salty and mineral-driven profile filled with a powerful and brooding medley of dates, umeboshi plums, and creamy nougat. The mid-palate is refined and vibrant, with additional flavors of wine-braised pears, golden apples, and blanched almonds, with some exotic lime leaf and cardamom on the long and elegant finish.
