Tasting Notes Lonesome Rock Estate Pinot Noir 2023 ****DAMAGED LABEL**** The 2023 pinot noir is a bright, luminous crimson, with an open-knit and inviting bouquet of griotte cherry, wild strawberries, and crushed rose petal. It gains depth and silkiness on the palate and has a lacy frame of fine-grained tannins and a lengthy finish with energy and balance. Delicious now, but should evolve beautifully through 2036. Winemaking Notes With 2 separate picks on September 21 and 29, the fruit was harvested by hand into tiny bins to ensure uncrushed fruit arrives at the winery. Meticulously hand-sorted and 100% destemmed berries are cold-macerated for 4-5 days, fermented with native yeast, and hand-punched down during fermentation. Transferred to 100% French oak (20% new) and aged in cold cellar for 10 months before a light filtration at bottling.
