2022 Stronsay Chardonnay 12 Bottles

Bright, even, pale yellow. This has a moderately intense barrel fermentation and oak influence on the bouquet, aromas of flint, roasted almond and toast underlying lemon sherbet, pear and creamy custard. Medium-full bodied, lemon interweaves pear, grapefruit and its peels entwined with toast, roasted nut, smoke flint and spice. The fruit is concentrated with ripeness, and underlined acid tension drives a focus. Fine-textured phenolics alongside well-portioned creaminess glide through the palate with ease. This elegant Chardonnay shows forward, concentrated fruit, with toasty layers and power on a smooth mouthfeel. Match with grilled kingfish and pork cheek croquettes over the next 5 years. 100% Gibbston fruit from a single vineyard with 28-year-old vine age, fermented in neutral oak barriques to 13.6% alc, underwent MLF.
