Angama Mara

Angama Mara offers a luxury safari stay high above Kenya’s Maasai Mara. The name comes from the Swahili word for suspended in mid air. So your stay also supports conservation and community development. You can reach the lodge by a scheduled flight from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport. The flight takes around 45 minutes and lands at Angama’s private airfield. From there, a short transfer brings you to the lodge. Road transfers from other camps in the greater Mara are available too. Accommodation Angama Mara comprises two separate camps, North Camp and South Camp. Each camp holds 15 tented suites plus its own lounge and restaurant area. Every suite covers more than 100 square meters, including an outside deck. Floor to ceiling glass fronts frame sweeping views of the Mara below. South Camp suites face south east, while North Camp suites look directly east over the plains. As a result, North Camp offers a slightly more dramatic outlook. Interiors combine contemporary design with African character. You will find super king beds, polished parquet floors, and touches of Maasai red throughout. Four family suites are also available for guests traveling with children. Dining Dining at Angama Mara feels refined yet relaxed. The kitchen builds its menus around fresh, seasonal ingredients grown in the lodge’s own garden. Menus draw on both local and international flavors. You can eat in the stylish dining room, on the terrace overlooking the plains, or out in the bush. Bush breakfasts and picnic lunches often become a highlight of the stay, especially when served under a lone tree on the open plains.
