OOAK batch ~ smeeth | aran ~ vetch
One final batch of the corriedale that we first fell in love with. This aran weight yarn is worsted-spun rather than woollen-spun like smeeth | fingering and smeeth | sport our more recent additions to the range but it's plump, springy and makes a gorgeous sweater yarn as well as being perfect for a cosy beanie or cowl. A tiny yet beautiful treasure from the sand dunes, Vetch has perfect earthy green leaves with hints of glaucous blue fading to warm ochre tinged olive. Inspiration for the current green dye pot obsession! There are just five skeins of this shade and once they're gone, that's it! Hand washing in cool water with gentle wool wash. As with all small-batch, hand-dyed yarn that doesn't have dye lots, we also recommend knitting alternate rows from two skeins when working on larger projects to avoid noticeable changes between skeins. We use professional acid dyes with good light and wash fastness and do our best to exhaust every dye bath and to reuse water wherever possible to reduce any further environmental impact. Occasionally a small amount of 'loose' dye may remain in the yarn after rinsing (most likely with deeply saturated shades) and we always recommend hand washing in very cool water and pre-washing your yarn separately if you are intending to mix light and dark shades in a single garment/project. weight: aran fibre: 100% wool - corriedale, non-superwash needle size: 4.50 - 5.00mm metres: 200m per 100g skein care: hand wash in cool water with gentle wool detergent
