Waimate Whispers and Wisdom

Discover fresh voices, favourite verses and the joy of shared creativity at Waimate District Library’s National Poetry Day celebration on Friday 28 August. The morning will feature local poet John Russell-Hodge, poetry displays, inspiring collections and an open mic for community members who would like to read their own work. Lifelong poetry lovers, aspiring writers and curious newcomers are all welcome to enjoy this relaxed, free event from 10am to 11.30am. Anyone wishing to take part in the open mic should register by Tuesday 25 August, as reader spaces are limited.
