Victorian 14K Gold Austro-Hungarian 17” Biker Link Chain
This Victorian biker link chain was made in Austro-Hungaria sometime between 1874-1922. It has the hallmark Fuchskopf (a little fox head), and a P mark that lets you know it was assayed in Pest (now referred to as Budapest). It is a nice European chain with a great, wide biker link. The links are blocky and angular; the edges come to a sharp point at their center and widen down, with a lot of places for the gold to catch light in a beautiful shimmer. At 17”, the chain is the perfect length for pendants, as the added inch gives it a slightly lower placement than is typical. It ends with a dog clip, and looks great anchored with a charm clipped in. We love the rosy hue of the antique gold, which comes from the patina and the type of gold used during the Victorian era. The chain is 17” long and 2.75 mm thick. It weighs 13.5 grams. Marked as 14k, and with a P and a Fuchskopf. Pictured here with our Victorian 14K Gold Intricate Woven Wirework Horseshoe Pendant with Diamonds, also available in our shop.
