El Salvador: Finca Las Marías is an exceptionally sweet and fruit-forward natural, grown from the Kenyan SL28 variety and bursting with red grape, caramel, and strawberry. This coffee comes to us through Britt McCoy and the team at Forest Flame Coffee in Arlington, Texas. Producer Carlos Escobar planted SL28, a variety best known for its role in Kenya, at Finca Las Marías in El Salvador. Naturally-processed to let the fruit develop fully, this experimental lot showcases how dramatically variety, terroir, and processing can shape a coffee. The result is a distinctly Kenyan-inspired profile from an unexpected place. The Bottom Line: Red grape, caramel flan, and strawberry jam make this a vibrant, candy-sweet natural with plenty of character. A genuinely fun experiment in what El Salvador can produce.
