Buatier de Kolta is credited with inventing spring flowers sometime between 1876 and 1886 (Bart Whaley, Encyclopedic Dictionary of Magic, p. 869), and he reportedly made his own. I have no idea how convincing they looked from a distance, but these ones from Alan Wong are the best spring flowers I’ve seen. Do they look like real flowers? Hard to say — but they’re colorful, pack small, expand big, and they look great from a small distance.
