Retaining the same concept of a contemporary, enveloping seat, this edition stands out for its treatment of the fabric as a play of nuances, where colour is built up in layers and the upholstery becomes an essential part of the sofa’s character. In this version, Loop is upholstered in Planum, a knitted upholstery fabric with a refined look and a smooth, soft surface. Planum is characterised by a subtle matt sheen and a natural, dry feel, and is constructed using a simple double-knit structure, with a predominantly wool surface. The colour palette, created by the Dutch studio Raw Color, stems from an exploration of three-dimensional objects, investigating directions and shades until selecting 20 final tones from 350 hand-painted samples—a method unique to the studio’s approach to understanding colour as a material.
