Make a Summer Skirt with Aileen (3x Thursdays)

Three consecutive weeks, beginning Thursday 18th June 6-9pm (then 25th June and 2nd July) Let's tackle your first self-made garment together! It's perfect timing to sew a beautiful summer skirt and you'll learn how to read the pattern, purchase the right type of fabric and choose the correct sizing. Everything you learn over this short course will help you tackle any sewing pattern with a lot more confidence! IMPORTANT: Please check here before booking as once purchased, tickets are non-refundable. SUITABILITY: This is a great course if you're fairly new to sewing or have never made a quilt. You do need a little experience in threading up a machine and sewing in a straight line as we don't go through those basics in this class. If you have never sewn before, it's best to try our beginner's class first. This class is suitable for adults only, age 16+. WHAT'S INCLUDED: Professional tuition by Aileen Luella skirt pattern from Tilly and the Buttons (size range 6-34) Use of our Janome digital sewing machines and studio equipment Endless encouragement and advice! WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING: Please DO NOT buy fabric until we've met for week 1 of the class as you will learn lots about how to choose the best fabric to suit a pattern. Please do bring tracing paper. Swedish tracing paper or dressmaker's tracing paper (both available at Sew Yarn Crafty) are best. Machine-sewing thread (sew-all polyester thread or quality cotton is recommended). Basic sewing kit (chalk, pencil, fabric scissors, tape measure, seam ripper, pins etc.) Bring a notebook to jot down measurements, instructions and any future fabric requirements. STUDIO ACCESS: The Studio at Sew Yarn Crafty is accessed from the main shop down a flight of stairs with alternative access direct to the basement for anyone requiring an entrance without steps.
