Varèse Transport

The dCS Varèse CD/SACD Transport is the dedicated disc playback component for the Varèse Music System. Designed for listeners who want to extract the highest possible performance from CD and SACD collections, it plays discs in their native formats and connects to the Varèse Core through a single ACTUS cable. CDs are output as native 44.1kS/s PCM, while SACDs are output as native DSD. No upsampling or format conversion is performed inside the Transport; any further processing is handled by the Varèse Core. This keeps the Transport focused on one task: reading the disc with maximum precision and delivering bit-perfect audio into the Varèse system. The Transport also receives Tomix clock signals via ACTUS, allowing it to synchronize with the rest of the Varèse system, reducing jitter and improving playback stability. A new chassis design and mechanism mounting system make it dCS’s quietest, lowest-vibration transport to date.
