This may very well be the most heat tolerant of the shirasawanum varieties. The large luxurious green leaves are more deeply cut than many shirasawanum varieties and are quite sun tolerant in all but the hottest climates. 'Palmatifolium' is quite vigorous and forms a strong, sturdy upright tree becoming more rounded and wider with age.
