Sounds That Soothe

A child’s body has to settle before their behaviour can. HushAway soundscapes recognise the importance of sound before words, harnessing the power of sound to support regulation in early years settings. When a child is dysregulated, the words and instructions we normally rely on may no longer reach them. In our October webinar, Boogie Mites team up with Nicola Maria Rose (Nikki), founder of HushAway®, to explore why this happens and to introduce a low-demand, instruction-free approach to using sound, one that can support children without asking them to sit still, close their eyes or follow a sequence of steps. Built from the ground up for neurodivergent children rather than adapted from adult calming content, the approach draws on Solfeggio frequencies, binaural beats and ASMR-informed soundscapes, and is designed to fit the real moments of a setting’s day.
