2661, Tortue Monopoussoir, CPCP, Pink Gold

A ref. 2661 Tortue Monopoussoir CPCP, the first remake of the historic Tortue Monopoussoir since production of the original ceased in the 1940s. The Tortue case was first made in 1912, only second oldest to the Santos and five years prior to the Tank, though its use has been sparing. The Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP) line was immensely successful in its goal; capturing the watch community’s renewed appreciation for fine mechanical watchmaking following the quartz crisis. This is a serious range displaying fine craftsmanship and refined design in all its offerings. The 2661 brought a contemporary dial configuration with tonneau shaped minute track and full roman numerals. It is likely the first pink gold Tortue Monopoussoir reference, significantly rarer than yellow or white gold examples.
