Origin: Egypt Circa: Late Period, 664 BC to 332 BC Dimensions: 5.25" Height x 1.5" Width (13.2 cm x 3.8 cm) Medium: Faience This fine Egyptian green faience ushabti for the Priest Nacht-Heneb (Priest of the Snake God Heneb), features a T-shaped band of hieroglyphic inscriptions down the front. The figure stands on a small plinth, mummiform, before a plain back column. He wears a plain wig and plaited false beard and has an oval face, bulbous nose, full lips, and rounded chin. His hands are crossed over his chest, the right holding a pick and the left holding a hoe, with seed bag that falls over his shoulder. Both the horizontal top row and the vertical column of hieroglyphic inscriptions down the front are enclosed within an incised rectangle.
