Tomatillo | Mexican Husk Tomato
Sold as a pair for $25.00 - growing in pairs offers increased pollination opportunity Add something a little different to your edible garden with the wonderful Green Tomatillo, also known as the Mexican Husk Tomato. Originally from Mexico and Central America, tomatillos have been cultivated for thousands of years and remain an essential ingredient in traditional Mexican cuisine. The distinctive fruits develop inside beautiful papery husks, resembling little lanterns. They have a delicious fresh, tangy flavour, somewhere between a tomato and citrusy plum, and are best known as the star ingredient in traditional Mexican Salsa Verde. They’re also delicious roasted, grilled or added to sauces, tacos and enchiladas. Tomatillos are vigorous, productive plants that love a sunny position, fertile soil and regular watering. We sell our plants in pairs because tomatillos require cross-pollination to produce a reliable crop, so growing two plants together gives you the best chance of enjoying an abundance of fruit. Our plants are healthy, vigorous and well established - ready to find a home in your garden. Two plants, one delicious harvest!
