2017 Music Man St. Vincent, Tobacco Burst
A very cool 2017 Ernie Ball Music Man St. Vincent model, finished in Tobacco Burst with gold hardware and the HHH pickup configuration. Designed with Annie Clark, the St. Vincent is one of the more distinctive signature guitars of the last decade. The angular body shape is compact and comfortable, and we think looks great. This Tobacco Burst version has a particularly classy look alongside the gold hardware and parchment guard. Tobacco Burst was introduced as a new colour for the model in 2017. This example was manufactured on January 24th 2017 and is all original, complete with its original hard case and tags. Construction comprises a lightweight Okoume body and a full rosewood neck and fingerboard, finished with Music Man’s gunstock oil and hand-rubbed wax treatment. The neck is attached with Music Man’s sculpted 5-bolt joint, with a 25.5” scale, 10” radius and 22 medium-width, high-profile frets. The all-rosewood neck is one of the nicest features of these earlier St. Vincent models. It has a smooth, natural feel in the hand and measures 41.3mm at the nut, with a depth of 21.3mm at the 1st fret and 23.7mm at the 12th. Hardware includes Schaller M6-IND locking tuners and the Music Man St. Vincent modern tremolo with vintage-style bent steel saddles. This particular example came with gold hardware, which works especially well against the Tobacco Burst finish. Electronics are built around three custom DiMarzio mini humbuckers, controlled by a master volume, master tone and 5-way selector with Music Man’s custom switching arrangement. The three pickups give the guitar a broad range of sounds, from clear and articulate through to thicker humbucker tones, while retaining plenty of definition. All in all, a great example of the original St. Vincent design and one of the better-looking colour combinations. Complete with its original Music Man hard case and tags.
