Victron GX LTE 4G-G - GSM100400400
Victron GX LTE 4G-G Cellular Modem for GX Devices The GX LTE 4G-G is a cellular modem designed to connect Victron GX devices to the VRM portal over 4G/LTE, 3G or 2G networks. It is intended for installations where a wired internet connection is unavailable, including marine, mobile and remote off-grid sites. The modem accepts a user-supplied SIM card and connects directly to a GX device via USB. Key Features Supports LTE Cat-1, HSPA+ (3G), EDGE and GPRS (2G) for broad network compatibility across the UK and EU Wide supply voltage range of 8 to 70 VDC, suitable for 12V, 24V and 48V systems Integrated GNSS supporting GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, GALILEO and QZSS for location tracking Low power draw: 2.5W during active data transfer, under 1.0W in idle mode, with an additional 0.4W if GPS is enabled Connects to any compatible GX device via the included fixed 1.0m USB-A cable SMA Female connectors for both LTE and GPS antennas, with optional outdoor antenna available (GSM900100400) Operating temperature range of -40°C to +50°C, suitable for harsh environments IP20 protection rating; blue LED status indicator Certified to EN-IEC 60335-1, EN-IEC 60335-2-29, IEC 62368-1 and ECE R10-5 (automotive directive) Product Overview The GX LTE 4G-G plugs into a Victron GX device (such as the Cerbo GX or Venus GX) via USB and provides cellular internet connectivity for remote monitoring through the Victron VRM portal. It does not include a factory SIM; you supply your own SIM card from any compatible network operator. This gives you full control over data plan costs and network selection, which is particularly useful for installations across different countries or in areas where one network has better coverage than another. The modem's wide input voltage range means it can be powered directly from a 12V, 24V or 48V bus without a separate DC-DC converter. The inline fuse and power cable are supplied in the box. For sites where the internal antenna is insufficient, an optional external 4G outdoor antenna (GSM900100400) and optional GPS antenna (GSM900200100) can be connected via the SMA Female ports. The GNSS capability allows the VRM portal to display the installation's location, which is useful for mobile applications such as vehicles, vessels and temporary off-grid deployments. LTE Cat-1 provides download speeds of up to 10 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 5 Mbps, which is more than adequate for VRM telemetry. The modem falls back automatically to 3G or 2G where LTE is unavailable, maintaining connectivity in areas with limited network infrastructure. Power wiring should use 0.5 to 1.5 mm² cable with the appropriate fuse for the system voltage (500 mA at 12V, 250 mA at 24V, 100 mA at 48V). A user-supplied SIM card is required before the modem will connect. If the internal antenna provides insufficient signal, an optional external 4G outdoor antenna (GSM900100400) can be fitted to the SMA Female port. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent installer familiar with Victron GX systems.
