Mid-19th Century Secretaire Tallboy

A superb quality mid-19th century eight-drawer tallboy with a rather lovely hidden feature. English made but sourced by us in France, this handsome chest has a wonderful rich patina and beautiful wood grain throughout. It retains its original brass drawer pulls and escutcheons, with well-made dovetailed drawers, oak linings and drawers that run beautifully. The upper base drawer opens to reveal a neatly fitted secretaire interior, complete with leather writing surface — adding both character and practicality to an already impressive piece. In excellent condition throughout, this is a wonderfully useful tall chest offering plenty of storage without taking up too much floor space.
