Mid Century Modern 18KY gold and citrine brooch

Description : Citrine is deposited in hydrothermal veins, volcanic rocks and alluvial deposits. It is a form of orangish-yellow quartz and is prized for its color, and durability. The gemstone variety is generally eye clean, and a rich transparent hue of gold. This brooch contains a very large trillion cut of citrine. It is uniform in color and beautifully faceted. The setting is a whimsical series of 18KY gold wires that form around the stone in a playful, sculptural form and manner. This piece is completely hand fabricated. The stone is lifted up from the setting with a light, open and airy design that is organic and linear. Citrine is an alternative to Topaz for November's birthstone.
