Domestic Bear Den

The back of our land has a creek running through it, and it seems to not only be my favorite part of The Valley, but the bears love it too! For as long as I can remember, we have had mamas and cubs living a stones throw from my back door; their den right on the edge of our creek. Growing up-- I feared them. Their paw prints in the snow always sent a shiver down my spine and made me pick up my pace when I had to walk to my car in the morning during high school. But now they feel like the most sacred gift. Their energy is big, their curiosity insatiable. They could live anywhere in these mountains but have decided to call the same valley as me to call home.
