These knots are stabilized, sometimes have bold, filled cracks through them, and usually make the surrounding grain swirl in interesting ways. In the past these unique flutes would all be made into Premieres because knots make the flutes more difficult to shape, but we decide to release some as beginner flutes as well. Truly one of our most popular keys of flute, the G flute has a mid range voice with a soothing and more meditative voice. The reason this key is included as one of our three beginner friendly keys is due to its size. Of our three beginner flutes, the key of G sits right in the middle size and voice wise. In my many years of flute making and teaching experience, I have found that most people with average sized hands and average hand dexdarity have a relatively easy time reaching all the finger holes on this key. Why we love 440hz tuning We choose to tune all of our flutes to the gold standard of tuning which is 440hz. This allows you to play along with other musicians regardless of what instrument they are playing! There are other tunings that have become popular in recent years, but sticking with our standard of professional musical excellence is very important to us so other than the single flute offered in the alternative 432hz all other flutes on our website are tuned to 440hz.
