It is a 13x17 hand knotted Persian Tabriz area rug in wool and silk. This one-of-a-kind rug was woven in Tabriz, one of the best-known rug-weaving centers, in the 1960s. It is vintage by age but has never been used, so it comes to you in new condition. It is hand knotted at about 500 knots per square inch (65 Raj). A knot count that fine is what allows the crisp outlines, graceful curves and layered detail you see in the drawing. The pile is premium, naturally dyed wool, which gives the rug its durability and soft hand, and silk is used for the highlights, so the petals and vine work catch the light with a gentle sheen that shifts as you move around the room.
