This Platinum and Ceylon blue sapphire necklace is the first in our Tartan collection. The gemstones create a blue sea of sparkle below a platinum saltire cross. Conceived and designed as a way to proudly show the beauty of your Scottish heritage, this necklace is created for the modern collector of fine high-jewellery. A Sourcing Miracle: The Rarity of the Stones True luxury lies in the near-impossible. Gemstone cutters rarely fashion high-grade sapphires into princess cuts of this magnitude due to the immense raw material required compared to traditional cushion cuts. Finding a single stone of this caliber is a challenge; finding four perfectly color-matched specimens to form the quadrants of our national cross is a historic rarity. The journey began on the 12th of February, when we first shared the initial CAD concepts with our community. After weeks of intense global searching to find the perfect stones, we returned on the 29th of April. We presented our customers with the raw platinum pendant, before it was set or final polished, offering a choice: should it feature two sapphires and two diamonds, or a solid sea of deep blue? Our clients overwhelmingly urged us to go with the all-sapphire design. We listened, turning down a secondary suite of stones that was half the price but lacked the fire this design demanded. This pendant carries the ultimate reward of that collaborative search: a breathtaking suite of perfectly matched Ceylon blue sapphires, totaling a commanding 3.36 carats (each measuring a substantial 5.2mm x 5.2mm). The depth of color and intense brilliance of these hand-selected stones are plain to see, catching the light with unmatched fire. The Fine Details & Custom Tailoring The pendant is engineered with a concealed double loop on the reverse, ensuring it balances beautifully against the skin, sits perfectly, and never rocks or twists when worn. It is elegantly suspended from a premium 18-inch platinum filed trace chain (1.6mm width). The meticulously flattened edges of the filed trace links act like tiny mirrors, casting a beautiful, subtle glitter along the collarbone that perfectly complements the flash of the sapphires. Because this is a bespoke piece, we invite you to make it entirely yours. The chain length can be custom ordered shorter, longer, or fitted with a platinum adjuster chain to effortlessly adapt to a variety of necklines.
