They ultimately split time between neighboring Pittsburgh and Washington, DC in order to accommodate the large crowds they often drew. During their fifty years of existence, they were one of the most popular and successful clubs in the NLB. Powered by all-time greats like Cool Papa Bell and Josh Gibson, the Grays won 11 league titles and three Negro World Series.
