Antique French Parquetry Ormolu Marble Top Louis XVI Commode Chest Drawers 1880

A fine French antique Louis XVI transitional style kingwood, mahogany and tulipwood parquetry inlaid, with ormolu mounts and marble top commode, circa 1880. This very fine antique French commode having a black & white veined "Noir Antique" contoured marble top, below are three drawers with gilt bronze borders and ormolu circular laurel leaf shaped handles surmounted with a garlanded bow and flanked with a pair of ormolu corbel brackets. Below are a pair of cupboard doors each enclosing a shelf and to the center is a pair of deep drawers with corresponding gilt bronze mounts and handles. The commode having a shaped skirt mounted a gilt bronze winged laurel wreath with twin cornucopia, the chest is raised on four cabriole legs mounted with gilt bronze sabots, the sides of the commode are also decorated with gilt bronze mounts. The chest is lavishly decorated with geometric parquetry inlay and highlighted with line inlay, condition is very good, all the drawers and doors open and close with ease and are aroma free, this fine antique French commode is ready to grace your space.
